Welcome to the Lady Shooters Soccer League (LSSL). Please review the following rules carefully.
1. General Rules
Team Placement:
Teams are placed by the league based on ability, numbers, and what is best for the league.
Final placement decisions rest with LSSL, not the captain or team.
Zero Tolerance:
Violence, abusive language, or inappropriate behavior toward players, referees, officials, convenors, or spectators will not be tolerated.
LSSL reserves the right to remove any player or team at any time if rules are not followed. No refunds.
Discipline:
LSSL may suspend or remove any player/team at its discretion. No refunds will be issued.
Referees:
Certified referees are appointed by the Referee-in-Chief.
Referees enforce FIFA laws and LSSL policies. Their decisions during games are final.
Each referee must complete the game sheet and provide a written report of any discipline issues.
2. Scheduling & Weather
Schedules:
Posted online before the session’s first game. Captains/players must check regularly for changes.
Game Times:
LSSL aims to distribute time slots fairly, but exact balance is not guaranteed.
Weather:
All games proceed as scheduled unless Trio Sportsplex closes the facility.
If cancelled by LSSL or Trio Sportsplex, results will be recorded as a tie. No reschedules.
3. Forfeits, No Shows & Fines
Forfeits:
Teams must notify LSSL no later than 3:00 PM on game day (email: ladyshooterssoccer@gmail.com)
One forfeit per session allowed without penalty.
A second, etc. forfeit = results in a $200 fine, payable before the next game.
Unpaid fines =results in a $25 late fee per week until paid.
Forfeiting team receives a 3–0 loss.
No Shows:
Failing to appear without notifying LSSL = No Show.
$200 fine must be paid before the next game.
Unpaid fines =results in a $25 late fee per week until paid.
No-show team receives a 3–0 loss.
Unpaid Fines:
Teams with unpaid fines forfeit all subsequent games until paid in full. No exceptions.
Defaults:
Teams must field minimum players:
6v6 (Sessions 1 & 2): 3 players + goalie
7v7 (Summer): 4 players + goalie
If not met, team receives a **3–0 default loss**.
4. Registration & Payments
Player Registration:
Every player must submit to the LSSL a registration/waiver form and government-issued photo ID minimum 1 week prior to the 1st game.
Players may only play for one team per night.
Photo ID required at all games for eligibility checks.
Team Registration:
Captains must submit a registration form, roster, and deposit to secure a spot.
Session 1 & 2 rosters: max 14 players (additions until Game 4).
Summer rosters: max 16 players (additions until Game 2).
Fees:
All team fees due by Game 2. No exceptions.
Late payment = $200 fine and forfeited games until paid.
NSF cheque = $50 fine.
Insurance Fee:
$25 per player, required once per year.
If paid for Session 1 & 2, it covers both sessions.
If a player joins in the Summer Session, the $25 fee is paid then, and it also covers the following Session 1 & 2.
Refunds:
Absolutely no refunds for team/player withdrawals, suspensions, or removals. No Exceptions.
5. Uniforms & Equipment
Uniforms:
Matching jerseys with numbers required. No duplicates.
Numbers must match the game sheet.
No number = player cannot play until corrected
League pinnies used if jersey colors clash (coin toss decides).
Equipment:
Shin guards, socks, and indoor soccer shoes required. We do not recommend outdoor cleats.
Shin guards must be worn under socks.
Size 5 ball used. Each team must bring one to every game.
Jewelry, watches, fitness trackers, hard hair accessories, etc. prohibited.
Piercings must be removed or taped.
Other Gear:
Sports glasses allowed; regular glasses not recommended.
Braces/casts with hard parts must be fully covered and approved by referee.
Religious clothing permitted under uniform (black only).
6. Game Procedures
Game length: 2 × 25-minute halves (50 minutes).
5-minute grace period if short players; after that, default loss of 3-0.
Game sheets must be submitted before kickoff with player names and numbers.
Up to 2 coaches allowed; must be listed on roster. Coaches may not argue with referees.
Change rooms encouraged. Bags not allowed on sidelines (safety hazard).
7. Gameplay Rules
Substitutions: Unlimited, on-the-fly, from the center line. Improper = 2-minute penalty.
Kick-ins: Replace throw-ins. Opponents 3 yards away.
Free Kicks: All indirect except penalties.
Penalty Kicks: Taken from top of goalie box.
Goalkeepers: Cannot punt the ball; must throw or drop-kick.
Slide Tackles: Not allowed (except keepers in box, only to make a save). = 2-minute penalty, possible card/suspension.
Abandoned Games:
25+ minutes played → Score stands.
Less than 25 minutes → Team abandoning loses; opponent awarded 3–0 win (or higher score if already leading).
If a team leaves before referee ends game → Automatic loss; opponent awarded 3–0 win (or higher score if already leading).
8. Spectators
Must remain upstairs in mezzanine (insurance requirement).
Negative/disruptive behavior = removal.
If a spectator causes abandonment, their team forfeits and may face fines.
Spectators may never enter the field.
9. Discipline & Suspensions
Cards & Penalties:
Swearing at referee = minimum 1-game suspension.
Foul from behind = yellow (repeat = red).
Fighting, punches, hair-pulling, scratching = minimum 3-game suspension, possible removal.
2 yellows = red + 1-game suspension.
Leaving bench during altercation = minimum 1-game suspension.
Other Discipline:
Team brawls = all involved suspended (minimum 1 game).
Red card = immediate ejection; player must leave playing area.
Team using suspended player = default loss + extra 2-game suspension + $200 team fine.
Appeals:
Must be submitted within 24 hours of game by email: ladyshooterssoccer@gmail.com.
$100 fee required (refunded only if appeal successful).
LSSL decision is final.
10. Playoffs
Only registered/rostered players by Game 4 (Sessions 1 & 2) or Game 2 (Summer) are eligible.
Top 4 teams per group advance. Winners move to finals.
Ties decided by 3-player shootout → sudden death. All players must shoot before repeats.
Tiebreakers:
1. Points
2. Head-to-head
3. Most wins
4. Goal differential
5. Fewest losses
6. Most goals scored
7. Fewest goals against
8. Shootout
11. Team Responsibilities
Captains:
Ensure registrations, payments, and rosters are complete.
Communicate league information to players.
Collect and submit fees.
Teams:
Clean bench areas after games. Leaving garbage = \$100 fine.
Respect referees, officials, convenors, and staff.
Eligibility Challenges:
Only captains/co-captains may challenge. Must locate/contact an LSSL convenor (not referees).
Challenge must be made with at minimum 20 minutes left in the game.
If ineligible player confirmed: team forfeits 3–0 + $200 fine.
Fine increases by $25 per week until paid.

By registering with LSSL, all players, coaches, and captains agree to follow league rules. Failure to do so may result in suspension, fines, or removal without refund.
Rules not covered here will follow FIFA Laws of the Game, unless otherwise stated by LSSL.
