About Us

Our league journey began when I moved to Vaughan, Ontario 34 years ago, not knowing a single person in the area. I visited the local youth soccer club and asked about volunteering my time. I ended up doing so for five years, and during that time, I led efforts to bring girls’ competitive soccer to Vaughan for the very first time.

Later, I began playing in local sports leagues around the area, meeting many wonderful people and learning valuable lessons along the way about what it takes to build something meaningful. Having played soccer all my life, I experienced firsthand the lifelong skills and benefits that come from being part of a team. That experience inspired me to create more opportunities for women to enjoy both recreational and competitive soccer in a fun and safe environment, so they could access the same benefits I did.

The Lady Shooters Soccer League officially began around 15 years ago for women aged 18 and up. We started with an outdoor program and soon expanded to include indoor soccer at what is now known as Trio Sportsplex. Today, we offer indoor soccer year-round on Monday and Wednesday evenings, as well as outdoor soccer in the summer at the Adidas Sports Complex and at Concord/Thornhill Regional Park.

Together with my partner, Ida, we spent countless hours reflecting on the things we had disliked or disagreed with during our time in other sports programs. Then we built our own league from the ground up, with pride and a passion for doing things differently. Whether joining as an individual or as part of a team, our program gives players the chance to form new friendships, grow their confidence and soccer skills, and enjoy the game in a supportive, team-friendly atmosphere.

To help foster this environment, we pride ourselves on being a well-organized and structured league with top-notch referees to provide a premier playing experience.

As the world continues to change, we believe our league should grow and adapt too. That’s why we take a players-first approach, always keeping player feedback at the heart of how we move forward.

We can’t wait to “shoot in style” with you at an upcoming Lady Shooters Soccer session.
